SUMMER at Little Roots

Exploring Art and Music

Little Roots and Art Always team up for a week of art-and-music-filled summer mornings!!

Instructors: Lindsay Fogg-Willits, Annie Lynch Stevenson, Richie Barshay and Tracy Einstein

We’ll start each morning at Little Roots exploring a variety of musical subjects and styles, including group singing, ukulele, global rhythm, music games and more. After a snack break, Little Roots and Art Always staff will walk the group over to the Art Always studio where we’ll dive into creating a variety of 2D and 3D art throughout the week using varied supplies and prompts, including projects that explore music and sound! Plan to pick your child up each day at Art Always.

Come fiddle, strum, and sing at Strings Week at Little Roots this Summer! 

Mia Friedman and Annika Amstutz will be teaching fiddle and ukulele as well as doing singing, some body percussion, music related art projects and more!  This week-long camp is for 8-11 year olds who are interested in exploring new instruments and traditional music.  No prior fiddle or ukulele experience required, instruments are provided by Little Roots for the week, though students are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.

Daily Schedule:

9am: drop off and morning circle

9:30 - 10:15:  Music Block 1

10:15 - 10:30: Snack Break

10:30 -11: Fresh Air Activity or Craft

11-11:45: Music Block 2

11:45-12: clean up and closing circle

12pm: pickup
